Paul Anthony Lange, President & CEO

A varsity baseball player at both the University of Notre Dame and the University of Virginia, Paul brings a uniquely sophisticated perspective and skill set to real estate investment and development. Paul currently manages multiple equity funds and oversees the group’s projects under development with enterprise value in excess of $4 billion. Previously, Paul served as President of Buckhead Homes, LLC, which he grew into the premiere luxury residential brand in Atlanta along with his wife, Karen. Buckhead Homes executed ultra-exclusive vertical projects in addition to land development projects under its banner.

Paul’s responsibilities included site selection, structuring partnerships, marketing, and all aspects of the design process. Prior to forming Buckhead Homes with Karen, Paul was a commercial real estate broker at Carter & Associates and Insignia/ESG where he represented local, national, and international clients in the acquisition and disposition of real estate across multiple asset classes. He was awarded membership in the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors based on his performance and transaction volume.

Immediately pursuant to graduation from UVA, he worked in Washington, D.C. with Arthur Andersen & Co. in the firm’s Real Estate Services Group. There he executed both feasibility analysis and portfolio valuation on projects in the Mid-Atlantic, Florida and Arizona.

Paul, a graduate of the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce, was honored with a Congressional Order of Merit for distinguished achievement in business and was bestowed the prestigious award of being among Atlanta’s “40 Under 40” by the Atlanta Business Chronicle. Aside from leadership roles on various committees and Boards, he has supported causes such as Habitat for Humanity and Foundation for a Drug Free World.

Karen McCreary Lange, COO

After graduating from University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce, Karen worked as an equities research analyst for The Robinson-Humphrey Company. Karen started her real estate career representing institutions and ownership of commercial assets at Peterson Properties, Carr America, and Resource Real Estate Partners. Karen pursued her passion for the residential real estate starting in 1999, acting as COO and CFO of Buckhead Homes in Atlanta where she oversaw all aspects of production and operations.

Karen has transitioned her uniquely sophisticated background into key leadership positions with the City of Atlanta and in the industry. In doing so, Karen was elected the youngest former president of the Inner Atlanta Chapter of the Home Builders Association (the largest individual chapter in the nation) and has served on various task forces for the City of Atlanta, playing a critical role in rewriting ordinances and the city’s zoning code. Her institutional finance and operational experience, coupled with her unique understanding of jurisdictional and entitlement issues, is an invaluable resource to current endeavors. Karen is a member of Mensa International and was bestowed the prestigious award of being among Atlanta’s “40 Under 40” by the Atlanta Business Chronicle.

Derrick Davis, CFO

Derrick is a senior level executive who has been involved in commercial real estate acquisitions, development, asset and portfolio management and capital syndication for over 25 years. He started his career in mergers and acquisitions with Insignia Financial Group where he was involved in the spin-off of their multifamily portfolio to AIMCO and the sale of their investment retail portfolio to CBRE. He has worked in CMBS servicing with CapMark Services, a subsidiary of Lend Lease REI, focusing on asset management where he oversaw assets within securitized pools and conduits. Derrick also worked for the Haverty Furniture company for several years doing site selection and acquisitions for their retail and industrial properties, successfully orchestrating several 1031 exchanges, and completing a portfolio sale leaseback transaction with GE Capital.

After receiving his CCIM and MCR designations, Derrick pivoted into the syndication side of the industry, working for a real estate private equity company and then the second largest tenant-in-common sponsor in the United States. During the Great Recession he co-founded Capital REIT Investments taking advantage of the dislocation in pricing on assets under financial distress needing valuation adjustments and financial engineering. He has sponsored the acquisition and management of retail, multifamily, office, industrial and mixed-use assets as the general and joint venture partner. He has successfully procured the entire capital stack by partnering with limited and preferred equity investors as well as utilizing bridge, mezzanine, and permanent debt facilities from institutional lenders, high-net-worth clients, and family offices. He is a graduate of Clemson University, where he received his degree in Finance & Real Estate.

Ken Wilson, President - Construction & Operations

Ken is an executive-level professional with decades of experience in development and construction with large public builders and private companies. His background includes multi-market management of large-scale community development, as well as product design, construction, sales and marketing for both entry-level homes and higher-end luxury product. Ken has overseen the production of 20,000+- residential units in his career, along with roles in both commercial and hospitality real estate.

He was recently Regional Vice President for Peachtree Communities prior to their acquisition by Century Communities. Ken has overseen the annual production of 2,000+ units across multiple states and budgets exceeding $600m. Ken holds a BA in Construction Science from the University of Alabama and a MS in Industrial Management from Georgia State University.

Chris Centers, Senior Vice President – Land Acquisition & Development

Chris is a proven executive-level professional with an extensive real estate background, bringing 20+ years of experience in all aspects of land acquisition and development experience to Rotunda. Throughout his career, Chris has specialized in large-scale community development, as well as product design, construction, sales, and marketing for residential development. He has overseen site selection, entitlement, due diligence, sale and/or development of thousands of acres throughout his extensive career.

Chris holds both an BBA & MBA in Management/Finance from Western Michigan University.

Ryan Lane, CFA, Senior Vice President - Finance & Acquisitions

Ryan is an accomplished finance professional with over 11 years of experience in finance and commercial real estate. His expertise encompasses commercial property valuation, acquisitions, debt origination, asset management, and development. Prior to his current role at Rotunda, Ryan spent three years leading the finance and underwriting efforts for a significant neighborhood redevelopment project in Atlanta as senior vice president of finance for a German-based private developer. Before that, he honed his skills in finance and asset management at Olshan Properties, a prominent high-net-worth private family office. His early career includes roles at New York Life Real Estate Investors and Piedmont Office Realty Trust.

Ryan graduated summa cum laude from the University of Florida with a BS in Finance, and he furthered his education by earning an MS in Finance from the same institution. Notably, he is also a CFA Charterholder, underscoring his deep understanding of the finance industry and his commitment to professional excellence.

Douglas Hooker, Senior Vice President - Controller  

Douglas is an experienced accounting and finance professional with extensive experience in all accounting functions. His functions include execution on the individual property level as well as monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting on both the individual property and fund level. Prior to joining the organization, Douglas has previously overseen accounting functions on Multi-Family, SFR, TH and commercial projects totaling over $750m.

Additionally, Douglas is proficient in multiple institutional-level accounting software platforms that streamline and automate accounting and finance deliverables. Douglas holds a BBA in Finance from Howard University.

Neil Sargent, Senior Vice President – Construction Management

Neil, an experienced construction expert, has been instrumental in forging strong relationships with individual municipalities to streamline the permitting, entitlement, and inspections processes. His knowledge of individual city and county codes, and his efforts to forge personal relationships with individual inspectors and staff members, has proven invaluable in enhancing cycle times and limiting delays.

Prior to joining the organization, Neil performed a wide array of executive and project management roles with Crown Communities, Legacy Communities, Peachtree Communities, Century Communities & Clifton Enterprises. He holds a BS degree in Geology from Georgia State University.

Jim Thomas, Senior Vice President – Entitlements & Design

JT is an accomplished Construction & Asset Manager with more than 20 years of success across the real estate and construction industries. Jim's broad areas of expertise include acquisitions, finance, operation, strategy, and management in the multi-family and single-family spaces, as well as commercial. He has extensive on-site owner-rep experience and also GC on-site experience.

His career began in architecture after attending Texas Tech University and the University of Georgia. His career evolved into construction, land development, and asset management roles which formed his strong background in multiple perspectives of real estate asset improvement and protection. Construction is his primary focus for the highest impact of value-adding in the real estate cycle.

Michael Davis, Assistant Controller

Michael is an experienced real estate and property accountant with an extensive background coordinating and developing processes for tracking and accounting for real estate acquisition and construction projects. His responsibilities include aiding the controller in reporting, AP management, and fund tracking.

Prior to joining the organization, he was Administrative Director of Real Estate Services and real estate accountant for a large furniture chain, where he oversaw the acquisition of multiple distribution centers, and the accounting for 350,000 SF of retail space. Michael received a BS in Accounting from Middle Georgia State College.
